Information Literacy Project (ILP) Information literacy is about helping citizens develop critical thinking skills in locating, using, and evaluating information. Briefly, the project goals are to:
Project Timeline and Goals:
In year one, FY2000, a statewide planning committee was organized to establish information literacy standards and to develop a project plan. In year two, FY2001, the Project initiated a statewide information literacy training program as well as an extensive program of marketing to all Washington citizens. During its final year, FY 2002, the Project offered a new series of advanced information literacy workshops for staff, conducted an assessment of the training program and designed a plan to sustain the project's activities.
